The Council of Prairie and Pacific University Libraries (COPPUL) is pleased to congratulate Francine May, Associate Dean, Research at Mount Royal University Library, as the recipient of the 2026 COPPUL Outstanding Contribution Award. This award, given annually to an individual or team working in a member library, recognizes exemplary contributions to the consortium.
Francine is recognized for her leadership of COPPUL’s Collections Community from 2020 to 2025. Nominator Nicole Eva, Associate University Librarian at the University of Lethbridge, praised Francine's exemplary leadership and described how, as Chair, she built the COPPUL Collections Community into a "warm, inclusive community into which everyone felt welcome and comfortable sharing on a variety of topics."
Colleague Rob Tiessen (since-retired Collections Librarian, University of Calgary) echoed this praise in describing how Francine "organized great meetings that really fostered significant learning and discussion among COPPUL Collections librarians and...librarians from CAAL and other consortia in Canada."
Thank you, Francine, for your exceptional work on behalf of COPPUL members!
