Given COPPUL's focus on collections work, the Indigenous Knowledge program also has a strong focus on improving collections-related access and other issues experienced by Indigenous library users. There are a range of ways that this can happen, all with the goal of decolonizing libraries to be more inclusive not only their collections but also in the ways that they provide access to them.
One way can be free access to existing databases (see "First Voices First"), but this requires political will by vendors and other stakeholders. Other ways include educating vendors on how to create products and terminology that align with Indigenous cultures and values.
