Borealis, the Canadian Dataverse Repository, is a bilingual, multidisciplinary, secure, Canadian research data repository, supported by academic libraries and research institutions across Canada. Borealis supports open discovery, management, sharing, and preservation of Canadian research data.

Eligibility

Available to any Full or Affiliate COPPUL member institution.

Affiliate membership is open to the library of any non-profit Canadian college or university. Membership inquiries are welcome--please contact cdsn@coppul.ca or execdir@coppul.ca.

Pricing

Pricing is primarily based on CRKN tiers.

Fees for non-CRKN banded institutions are based on student FTE.

If needed, additional Borealis storage is available on the Ontario Libraries Research Cloud at current OLRC rates.

Sign up process

The Borealis subscription term currently runs April 1 - March 31, but new participants are welcome throughout the year. Please contact Y.G. Rancourt, CDSN Coordinator, to initiate or discuss the sign-up process.

New subscribers will be provided with a short online sign-up form to complete. This collects information necessary for setting up and provisioning access to your Borealis instance. To support planning, we recommend providing this information at least 5-10 business days prior to your desired start date.
