Phase 6 Working Group

Purpose

The SPAN Phase 6 Working Group played a key strategic role in the development and implementation of a shared print archive for Western Canadian topographic maps. Their efforts included identifying and selecting materials for long-term retention, establishing procedures for physical validation and inventory, and forming a dedicated sub-group to develop MARC templates. These templates support consistent item-level cataloguing across participating institutions, ensuring accurate documentation of retention commitments.
