Calls for participation: COPPUL DPN Working Groups

February 6, 2018

The COPPUL Digital Preservation Network (COPPUL DPN) builds capacity for digital preservation at member institutions by offering world-class preservation infrastructure, education opportunities and advocacy resources, and by connecting local digital preservation activities with regional, national and international efforts.

This is a community effort and we need your help! Please consider becoming a part of COPPUL’s efforts to ensure our communities have access to the information they need–now and in the future–by joining one of our new Working Groups.

Stakeholder Engagement Working Group
This working group will develop strategies and resources to support COPPUL members in cultivating institutional climates that are responsive to the need for digital preservation, with a special focus on internal stakeholders such as researchers, faculty members, and administrators. We are looking especially for people with real-world experience in working with internal stakeholders at a senior level.

Peer Services Working Group
This working group will create formal mechanisms to effectively connect COPPUL members at similar/complementary stages of digital preservation readiness, in order to develop expertise and capacity within COPPUL by having members collaboratively review program planning, policy, and related documentation. We are looking for people who have an interest in digital preservation and experience developing related policies and procedures.

As with all COPPUL Working Groups, we encourage people to participate that can provide as much regional and organizational diversity as possible. We also recognize that the best work happens when people with a wide range of experiences and perspectives come together. We therefore welcome nominees that represent as wide a diversity of perspectives and experiences as possible.

Each working group will consist of three to five people, with organizational support provided by the COPPUL DPN Coordinator. Time commitments will involve, at a minimum, one monthly teleconference meeting and collaborative documentation creation and editing on a regular basis.

If you would like to nominate yourself or a colleague, please forward the following information to the COPPUL DPN Coordinator corey@coppul.ca by Thursday March 15th, 2018:

  • Position

  • A short bio

We thank you in advance for your consideration!
