COPPUL endorses CCDH Principles

On behalf of COPPUL's Board of Directors, we are pleased to share that COPPUL has formally endorsed the Coalition for Canadian Digital Heritage (CCDH)’s Principles. The principles provide a thoughtful, robust framework for guiding our collective efforts toward illuminating and caring for the vast array of cultural materials undergirding our past, present and future. COPPUL shares the CCDH’s commitments to collaboration, respect, regional representation and inclusive access, and affirms the sovereignty and control of First Nations, Inuit and Metis peoples over their communities’ cultural property.

Together, COPPUL members represent significant collections and collective expertise in digitization, digital preservation and community relationships. We thank the CCDH for its leadership in developing pathways for regional coordination and contributions to its mission, and look forward to working with the CCDH to realize its vision.
