VICTORIA, B.C. - November 29, 2018. On this, the second annual World Digital Preservation Day (#WDPD2018), I'd like to take a moment to thank all of you for your support of the COPPUL Digital Stewardship Network. It was a banner year for our efforts. Here are just a few highlights:
- We launched WestVault, our distributed preservation storage service Over half of all COPPUL members are already participating!
- We received CANARIE funding for a collaborative project with the University of Toronto, called "Linking Data Repositories to Preservation Storage," which will enable Canadian researchers to seamlessly access different storage services through a single interface. https://www.canarie.ca/rdm-funding-call-recipients/
- In collaboration with our colleagues at OCUL, and with the generous support of the University of Calgary, COPPUL held its first Digital Preservation Management Workshop at the University of Calgary in June. https://coppul.ca/dpm-workshop-2018
- Canada's first national forum on digital preservation, @Risk North 2, was held in Montreal this November. http://www.carl-abrc.ca/mini-site-page/risk-north-2-digital-collections-2/
Thanks especially to the members of the CDSN Steering Committee for all their efforts, and I look forward to #WDPD2019, when we can share even more good news!
