CALGARY March 21, 2022 —The Council of Prairie and Pacific University Libraries (COPPUL) is pleased to recognize Jaclyn McLean of the University of Saskatchewan with its 2022 Outstanding Contribution Award. This award, which may be given annually to an individual or team working in a member library, recognizes exemplary contributions to the consortium. These contributions should enhance service in multiple COPPUL libraries and have an impact throughout the region.
Ms McLean was awarded for her contributions to COPPUL’s Collections strategy. As noted by her colleagues, “Jaclyn contributes high-quality and on-target opinions and information at each meeting, along with keeping consistent and detailed records of the discussion”. Jaclyn’s willingness and enthusiasm to volunteer for whatever is being proposed - from sharing her substantial expertise, particularly on the topic of usage statistics, to taking minutes at meetings, has been exemplary. She was instrumental in supporting the ConsortiaManager implementation, and is a founding member of the E-Resources Selection & Assessment Working Group. She has consistently made substantial contributions to COPPUL’s Licensing program and has helped shape many of COPPUL’s core licensing documents.
Nicole Eva, Associate University Librarian at the University of Lethbridge stated “I suspect she is very well-known to most COPPUL members as a result of her presence at and involvement in many facets of the consortia, and has certainly stood out to me for her various contributions and great knowledge.”
