The Council of Prairie and Pacific University Libraries (COPPUL) is pleased to congratulate Christina Winter, Copyright and Scholarly Communications Librarian & Librarian for Economics and Centre for Continuing Education at the University of Regina, as the recipient of the 2024 COPPUL Outstanding Contribution Award. This award, given annually to an individual or team working in a member library, recognizes exemplary contributions to the consortium.
Christina is recognized for her contributions to COPPUL’s Scholarly Communications Working Group (SCWG) and the wider scholarly communications community. As SCWG Chair, Christina coordinated the SCWG’s annual SkillShare event for many years and led its expansion to audiences outside COPPUL member libraries, “filling the gaps to provide much needed professional development to librarian colleagues across Canada during a period where online communities of practice had never been more essential”, as well as spearheading the working group’s Research Roundup initiative. Her open, inclusive, and supportive approach to facilitating conversations about various scholarly communications topics is greatly appreciated by her colleagues.
Thank you, Christina, for your exceptional work on behalf of COPPUL members.
